There are countless research articles on the importance of parent involvement in schools. The top reasons why parent involvement is necessary include improved student academic success, increased feelings of safety in school for students, home support with student behaviors and IEP/504/ELL/ReadAct plans, and improved student physical and mental health. A greater connection between school staff and families affects the overall school performance rating which is based on student academic testing scores and parent approval ratings.
