Falak, age 10
"Black Pink Lisa:
K-POP Star"
Student Description:
I made this digital painting in the Procreate app on my iPad. When I first got the app, I saw a few tutorials on drawing basics on procreate. However, I did not watch a tutorial on this exact drawing. This is someone from a popular k-pop group. First, I found a reference picture. Then I did a rough sketch of the picture for the pose, expression and clothes. I did the drawing on my own following the sketch. I put the photograph in a tiny box in the corner so I could match the colors. They stay accurate %90 of the time. I like digital paintings because I have a lot of color choices and I can change the opacity to add highlights and shadows.

Eli, age 11
"Spirals"
Winner of the Mathematics in Art Award
Student Description:
I used the mirror brush tool in sketch.io to make the spirals. I turned the sectors all the way up to 100 and dropped the line width size to 5px. I used the radial color pattern and I added a lot of layers to make this.

Amar, age 10
"Rhythm"
Student Description:
I made this in Sketchpad with the mirror brush tool. I like it because it is a TV robot.

Noah, age 9
"Metamorphosis"
Student Description:
Metamorphosis: The life cycle of a frog in five stages. I used pencil and paper to create this drawing. I really liked the lesson on metamorphosis because I can create a science drawing.

Stella, age 10
"Spin"
Student Description:
I painted this on my iPad in Adobe Fresco. First I drew the girl in the center and then I copied the girl and changed the direction a few times. The background and the colors are my own design. I used a reference photo of a Fortnite skin to start the drawing.

Oluwadamilola, age 9
"Snowman Narrative"
Student Description:
I used sketch.io to make my digital painting. I like using the computer to make art because I can change the opacity to add shading and highlights. I worked really hard on the spheres.
